Young Women in Architecture is a student organization in the º£½ÇÉçÇø at º£½ÇÉçÇø State University, founded by architecture student Savannah Wilson. YWA's mission is to empower and support women in architecture during and after their time at º£½ÇÉçÇø State. The group has established five pillars as its backbone: Design, Integrity, Community, Scholarship, and Purpose.

This student-led studio is examining the challenge of designing memorials.
Dr. Chris Hunter’s fourth-year studio was challenged with addressing the needs of Mound Bayou, a town in the º£½ÇÉçÇø Delta founded by former slaves to establish a self-sustaining community. The town thrived after the Civil War, producing high-quality cotton, providing education for the region, and offering a variety of business opportunities, including a stable banking system. During this time, Mound Bayou had a population of 8,000 citizens.
Alysia E. Williams, a fourth-year architecture student from Kennesaw, Georgia, is finishing up the fall 2021 semester in Assistant Professor Christopher Hunter’s Mound Bayou Master Planning and Community Center Design studio.
Jasmine Topps plans to graduate this spring from the º£½ÇÉçÇø at º£½ÇÉçÇø State.
